Tyler Bender

Mr. Tyler Bender joins RLS & Associates, Inc. as a remote employee after several years of work providing compliance program management and technical assistance at the Ohio Department of Transportation, Office of Transit. He possesses experience in preparing, coordinating, and conducting compliance reviews covering program management, procurement, civil rights, and drug & alcohol program management. His work in Ohio providing hands-on technical assistance to Section 5310, 5311, and 5307 grant subrecipients will be put to use on the State DOT and Compliance teams here at RLS.

Tyler earned both a Master’s Degree and Bachelor of Science in City and Regional Planning from The Ohio State University focusing on urban design and transportation. While in these programs, he participated in several student-led community projects working with county and city officials and local advocates implementing programs that included great amounts of civic engagement.

He has attended several National Transit Institute trainings covering topics such as Title VI and ADA in addition to active participation in National RTAP trainings and conferences having previously served as a Review Board member.
