NCDOT-IMD’s Strategic Training Program is sponsoring an in-person Passenger Assistance Safety and Sensitivity (PASS) Trainer Certification Program.
The program ensures that community transportation trainers have current expertise in passenger assistance, techniques, sensitivity skills, hands-on wheelchair securement and lift operations, bus evacuation knowledge and skills in order to train drivers to serve persons with disability. PASS Trainer certification is valid for three years.
Following registration, a link will be sent to the email used during registration that will include instructions to access two required prerequisite courses. This link will be sent at least one week prior to the class. All attendees must complete the following online courses before attending the in-person PASS class.
1. PASS Basic 7.0 (four-hour online self-paced course)
2. Techniques for Training PASS (two-hour online course)
Special Notes:
The e-mail address used when registering for the course must be accessible while on-site at the training location to access the exam link. If attendee’s work e-mail can’t be accessed outside the organization, a personal email that can be accessed should be used.
Attendees should bring a laptop or mobile device such as a tablet or phone (not recommended) to access the registered email address and exam link. The exam is taken online and submitted electronically.
Deadline to register is November 8, 2024. Class will be cancelled if less than 10 registrations are received.
